CONGRATULATIONS TO MOSCOW’S BOLSHOI BALLET ACADEMY ON ITS 240th ANNIVERSARY!
All of us at the Russian American Foundation are thrilled that many of our Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive students, who are now studying at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, were able to take part in this celebration and the gala concert at the Kremlin Palace! We know that all members of our Bolshoi family join us in congratulating the Academy on this milestone. As David M. Herszenhorn, of The New York Times recently said «[The Bolshoi Ballet Academy’s] alumni include some of the most illustrious dancers in the history of ballet.»
RAF is proud of its longstanding partnership with the Academy which allows serious dancers from all over the world to expand their personal, cultural, and pre-professional horizons. For the past seven years, RAF has brought Academy Master Teachers to the U.S., providing a unique opportunity for young dancers to train in the authentic pedagogy of Russian ballet and to immerse themselves firsthand in Russian culture and language. Starting in 2013, we are thrilled to also offer ballet educators and teachers an opportunity to learn from the Academy’s Master Teachers as part of RAF’s and Academy’s Teacher Certification Program in New York.
