With the performance of Les Ballets Russes on June 7, 2015 at the Nationaltheatre Munich, Principal Dancer of the Bayerisches Staatsballett, Lisa-Maree Cullum, will conclude her dance career.
For her last performance, Cullum chose the role of The Hostess in Bronislawa Nijinska’s ballet Les Biches. Having debuted in this role only a few years ago, it presents a wonderful culmination of an outstanding dance career. Moreover, the role merges European and Munich’s dance traditions with Ivan Liška’s season concept for the Bayerisches Staatsballett.
Lisa-Maree Cullum was awarded the coveted title of Bavarian Chamber Dancer in 2008 and has been a vital part of the company’s success story.
Ivan Liška hired Lisa-Maree Cullum in 1998 at the beginning of his tenure as Artistic Director. Over 17 seasons, Cullum has helped shaped an era of dance in Munich by taking on countless responsibilities on stage. She danced principal roles at countless full-length premieres for classics such as Manon, Sleeping Beauty, Raymonda and Le Corsaire as well as modern repertoire, from Balanchine to Forsythe and Richard Siegal.
